We’re Still Getting Married…
Just Maybe Don’t Come
Hi Everyone,
Obviously, due to COVID-19 a lot of your plans and ours have had to change and we’ve all had to adapt. The good news is we’re still getting married on our planned date, 10/24, at our originally planned location. However, due to concerns about how easily the virus can spread, we are limiting the event to our immediate family and the wedding party only.
We have had major concerns about the virus itself and we cannot in good conscience ask more than 150+ people to come to a hot zone like Dallas, Texas, and gather with other attendees in an enclosed space, especially with several guests being immunocompromised and of varying ages. Even with masks and social distancing, there is a heightened level of risk that we are not comfortable with and we feel it'll be in everyone’s best interest to have a vow renewal ceremony and celebration at a later date when it is safer to do so. Thank you so much for your understanding. While you can’t be there in person, we’ll make sure to set up a livestream for everyone to enjoy the ceremony from the safety of their home.
Thank you again, we know this change of plans may affect yours and we sincerely apologize for the abrupt change of plans.
FAQ
You also may have some questions and we can gladly answer them for you. Below are probably some presumed questions and answers but if you’re still unsure you can contact Laura or Justin.
What if I want to come but I’m not immediate family or in the wedding party?
Please don’t.
Even if I wear a mask and distance?
Yeah no. It’d be great if you didn’t.
When is the vow renewal?
We don’t know yet, but when we do we’ll be sure to let you know.
How are you livestreaming the ceremony?
We’re working on that right now and hoping to have more details about it closer to the event.
Do I have to dress up for a virtual wedding?
No but if you feel like it we won’t stop you.
Do I have to buy gifts if I’m not going to be there?
No. We know a lot of people are facing difficult financial situations due to the pandemic and we wouldn’t expect or ask any of our guests to do that. However, if you do feel inclined to do so you can find our registries here.
Who’s answering all these questions?
Don’t worry about it (it’s Justin).
Am I a real person?
No not really? You’re like a personified amalgamation of Justin and Laura’s extended family and friends and their expected reactions and questions to this update.
